Shyft Energy (Pty) Ltd was launched early in 2025 with an ambition to build an Africa-focused energy company that sells clean electricity to homes, cars, and businesses.
The South African electricity market is simultaneously being liberalised, decentralised, and modernised which provides fertile ground for a new entrant like Shyft Energy to disrupt.
Our integrated residential power and geyser control solution was launched in January 2026 where we offer our customers 15% cheaper electricity with grid back up at no upfront cost to them.

Mark
Co-founder
A cross-functional engineer and entrepreneur with 20+ years’ experience in the energy and technology sectors. Bridging mechanical, electronic, software, and petroleum engineering disciplines, he operates seamlessly between physical infrastructure and digital systems. After commercialising IoT solutions for bulk fuel environments, he now focuses on unlocking the potential of distributed energy.
